Jiufen is the small mountain town located in New Taipei city(新北;Hsinbei).
This place is known as model of anime movie, Spirited away in Japan.
You can go to this city from Taipei, and I think it takes less than hour by train and bus.
は千と千尋の神隠しのモデルと言われているところで、他に有名な映画で非情城市という映画のモデルでもある。台北近郊の観光地で、たくさんの観光客が訪れていようです。
台北から電車とバスで1時間以内にたどりつけるのではないかと思われます。

Access
You can take train to Ruefang(瑞芳) station, and then take bus to Jiufen.
I think you can take any north bound TRA trains except Ziqiang Express(自強號) which passes this station and the train go to Keelung(基隆).
瑞芳駅まで電車で行って、そこからバスで行けます。
瑞芳駅を通過する自強号と基隆行き以外の北行の電車が使えると思います。
You may well use ticket counter if you could not write Chinese, because the vending machine does not have English station name, sometime.
Trains
自強號 Ziqiang: This train is like Limited Express. 特急に相当
莒光號 Juguang: This train is like Express train. 急行に相当
區間車, it is meaning local train in English, this train stops all station. 普通列車
Change to the bus at Ruifang Station. It is in fromt of the train station.
It costs 22NTD, I think. When I visit there in 2009, the fare was 22NTD.
瑞芳駅でバスに乗り換え、バスは22元だったはず。2009年は22元でした。
